How many candles do I need?
44 candles cover all eight nights: one per night plus the shamash each night.
Which way do I place and light the candles?
Place candles from right to left, one more each night, and light the newest one first, from left to right, using the shamash.
Is it safe to leave lit?
Never leave lit candles unattended. Set the menorah on a heat-safe tray away from curtains.
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and do not soak metal parts.

Care
Put jewelry on last and take it off before showering, swimming or the gym. Store it dry. Wipe sterling silver with a silver cloth when it darkens; wipe gold plating, pearls and enamel with a soft dry cloth. For menorahs, use candles that fit snugly and never leave them lit unattended. Care guide
